Do I have to be a member to use the centre?
For most activities there is no need to be a member. However, if you want to use the halo gym or sunbeds, we will take your contact details and retain them on our membership database.
Can children go swimming unaccompanied?
Children aged eight and over can use the pools during appropriate sessions without adult supervision.
Which payment methods do you accept for bookings?
We accept cash, cheque and most major credit and debit cards. We do not currently accept American Express.
Do you hold activities for children during the Summer School Holidays?

Is there a family ticket price for swimming?
Yes. When the whole family swims together we'll give you 10% off standard prices. You'll need to be an actual family consisting of one adult and at least two children. If you are not a family group speak to the manager about other group discounts.
Do you have any swimming sessions for adults only?
Yes we do, these are at various different times, including early mornings and late evenings. Please see the Centre Swimming Timetables for further details.
I am a Big Member. Can I use my card in other leisure centres?
Yes, you are automatically a member of all halo centres. If you�re likely to use another gym, you might want to ask for a photocopy of your programme card. Please don�t remove your programme card from your home gym.
Are there any discounts or concessions on entry prices and memberships?
Yes, halo offer a concessionary price level for Senior Citizens, Students, Under 16�s and the Disabled. If you receive means-tested benefits you may well be eligible for the B-Easy Card, which accesses even lower prices.
When are you open?
All of the Leisure Centres and Swimming Pools are open seven days a week.

Do you do exercise classes and what times are they?
Yes, we offer a wide range of classes, suitable for beginners or advanced users. Click here to visit the Exercise Classes page for a full list of all the classes available at the Leisure Centres.
Do you hire equipment?
Yes , we have a full range of equipment available for most sports. There is a small charge for the hire of equipment and a deposit may be required which is returnable.
How do I pay my subscription?
Either by monthly direct debit or by cash up front for twelve months.
Can I change my category of membership?
Yes, you can up-grade or down-grade your membership at any time. Ask for an amendment form at reception.
Can I freeze / suspend my membership?
Only in exceptional circumstances and at the Centre Manager�s discretion.
How often should I exercise? / How long should a workout be?
There is no one answer to these questions, although the government recommend five thirty minute sessions of exercise every week. When you join halo gym one of our fitness instructors will develop a customised programme for you based on your own specific situation and goals.
How long do activities last?
Most of the activity prices you'll find on this site are for one hour. Their are a few exceptions: squash bookings are for forty minutes and adult grass pitch bookings are priced per match. Swimming lessons last thirty minutes and the length of classes varies - see the class timetables for actual times.
I've had a bad experience at one of the Halo Centres. What should I do?
We want to get things right and we hate it when we don't. We urge you to bring any problems to the attention of the Duty Manager when they occur. The Duty Manager will do everything in his or her power to put it right. If you're not happy with the results you can complete a 'tell' card which will hit the Centre Manager's desk very quickly. Or speak directly to or write to the Centre Manager. You'll find telephone numbers and addresses on the Our Sites pages of this website. Wherever you see a manager's name you can click to send an email directly to their Inbox.
